Earlier this year BMW acquired Alpina, one of the best tuners today. Of course, we all knew that not much would change in terms of the type of vehicles they would release in the future. And here’s the confirmation, the 2023 BMW Alpina XB7, a modified BMW X7 that comes with 630 hp.

The Alpina XB7 is a high-performance SUV that is based on the facelifted BMW X7. The XB7 has several features that distinguish it from the X7, including a more powerful engine, a slightly different exterior design, and a more luxurious interior.

The XB7 is also significantly more expensive than the X7 and it serves as a replacement for the BMW X7M, a car that BMW never produced.

The exterior of the XB7 is where most of the modifications have been made.

The split headlights have been darkened, and a front lip spoiler has been added. The lower air intake has also been modified.

The SUV rocks 23-inches 20-spoke Alpina design wheels and the rounded quad-exhausts are also a signature touch that gives the XB7 a truly unique look.

Inside, the 2023 Alpina XB7 is just as luxurious as the outside. The leather seats are comfortable and spacious, and the infotainment system is top of the line.

There is also plenty of room for cargo, thanks to the spacious trunk.

The XB7 has received more trim options like the Piano Lacquer, the Natural Walnut Anthracite, and the Alpina Myrtle Luxury Wood.

The steering wheel comes with the Alpina logo, and is hand-made in Lavalina leather stitched in blue and green colors.

Like the steering wheel, the IDrive controller also comes with the Alpina logo in the center, other changes are the gearshift selector which emits blue illumination, and a metal plaque located on the center console.

The graphics in the gauges differ from the X7, as they have a blue color, and green drag indicator when Sport and Sport+ modes are activated.

XB7 engine and specifications

The biggest change in the Alpina XB7 is under the hood, where Alpina has enhanced the X7’s bi-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine with mild-hybrid technology.

The result is an impressive 630 hp (639 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque.

That’s enough to propel the XB7 from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds, and on to a top speed of 290 km/h (180 mph).

The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.

How much does the 2023 BMW Alpina XB7 SUV cost, and is it worth it?

In the US, the Alpina XB7 will set you back at a starting price of MSRP of $145,000, and deliveries will start in early 2023.

The XB7 sits below the all-new 2023 BMW XM.

The 2023 Alpina XB7 serves as a big brother for the X7 M60i, since BMW never wanted to give us an X7 M.

Just to compare, the new facelifted BMW X7 M60i is considerably less powerful than the Alpina as it produces 523 hp (530 PS), and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque, can go from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4,7 seconds and has a top speed of 290 km/h (190 mph).

While the price is also lower, $103,100 in the US, it is clear that the XB7 is another type of SUV that focuses even more on performance and luxury, but is it worth the huge price difference?
