The Italian automaker has recently shared some pictures of their upcoming SUV, the Maserati Grecale.

Photographed around the Maserati plant, on Viale Ciro Menotti, Modena, we get an idea of what this new SUV is going to look like.

Based on the pictures, we can deduct that this new model will be smaller than its older sibling, the Maserati Levante; the Grecale will probably have a similar size as the Porsche Macan, which will become a direct rival of the Maserati Grecale; some other competitors will more likely be the Land Rover Velar, the BMW X4, and the Audi Q5.

One thing that grabs our attention is the rear lights, these don’t look similar to the Levante’s, which we believe is a good thing, since it will allow the vehicle to differentiate itself better. We also find the prototype’s shape sleeker than the Levante’s, with a lower ground clearance, and with a sportier design.

Maserati has stated that the Grecale is currently testing in different conditions, and in different situations, like off-road, on road, and in circuits. Information about this new SUV has been kept secret for a long time, and it seems like in the next months we will be learning more about this new offering from Maserati.

The new SUV is expected to be presented in the last quarter of 2021, and it will be built at Cassino, Italy, where they are planning an investment of 800 million euros.
