For those who love the Mercedes GLC but feel like it needs a bit more spice without going overboard, the Merc GLC 43 AMG might be the perfect option. It’s fast, stylish, and elegant. Also, it’s way more affordable than other AMG models, and it comes with a bunch of features that make it even more desirable.
Note that we are talking about the 2022 version since we are still waiting for the all-new 2024 GLC 43 AMG, which some rumours claim that it might come as a mild-hybrid. The standard 2023 GLC has already been unveiled, and the 2024 GLC Coupe as well.
Merc GLC 43 AMG Engine and specs
Starting with the power unit, the GLC 43 is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 unit with 385 hp and 383 lb-ft (520 Nm) of torque. It can speed up from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4,7 seconds, and from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4,9 seconds.
Its top speed is limited to 155 mpg (250 km/h) and the engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
Some features that the GLC 43 rocks are sport-tuned suspension, bigger brakes, the MBUX infotainment system, and AMG Ride Control+ which is an air suspension system that can adjust the ride height to improve performance and safety.
Mercedes GLC 43 exterior and interior design
If we compare it with the standard GLC we find many differences that make it stand out more, like the more aggressive front fascia Panamericana grille, a trademark of the AMG models.
When it comes to the side profile, the GLC 43 comes with sporty side skirts and 19-inch wheels.

But you are always going to be able to differentiate the GLC 43 from other versions by looking at its rear since the most obvious giveaway is the rounded quad-exhausts, which is the only version of the line-up that rocks it. There is also a diffuser which furthers the aggressive looks of this version.
Entering the inside we are greeted by AMG Sport seats upholstered in leather with red topstitching, also a sport steering wheel, and aluminum pedals. The car also has an AMG-specific instrument cluster with a sporty design.
The SUV comes standard with heated front seats, and a power-adjustable steering column. The user-friendly infotainment system features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

How much is the Merc GLC 43 AMG? Is it worth its price?
The GLC 43 AMG is the most affordable model out of all the AMG models from the GLC line-up. It might be costly for many but you are getting a lot of value for the money.
The Mercedes GLC 43 AMG will set you back at a starting MSRP price of $59,000, while in Europe it will cost you around 87,335 €.
If we talk about the US, for a similar price you can get a standard Porsche Macan, one of its main competitors, which starts at $57,500 (around 75,000€ in Europe), however, the standard Macan only has 261 hp, and is slower than the GLC 43.
If you wanted a more suitable competitor from Porsche you’d have to jump to the Macan S, which has 375 hp but starts at $68,400 (in Europe 87,000€), which is way more than the Merc in the USA, however, in Europe the prices are similar.
In our opinion the GLC 43 AMG has a fair price, you are getting a great mid-size SUV that is agile and fast while keeping the Mercedes’ classiness, the understated looks that this car has is one of the main reasons why someone would choose this car over other options. Sometimes, less is more.
