The Nissan Rogue is a popular crossover SUV that’s perfect for families thanks to its great cargo space and comfortable seating. Here we tell you what you need to know about the Nissan Rogue, how many seats it has, if it has 3rd row seating, and we show you its interior.

Note that Nissan gave the Rogue an important restyling back in 2021, which the latest 2023 version still features, so it’s likely that the Japanese brand will introduce a facelifted version in the next year.

Does a Nissan Rogue have 3rd row seating?

Since the Rogue is a crossover, we know that its size is not as large as other SUVs, and that means that Nissan had to make some concessions.

The 2023 Nissan Rogue does not have 3rd row seating, it comes with two rows of seating, if you want 3 rows of seating you need to go to larger cars like the Hyundai Palisade.

They indeed used to offer a Nissan Rogue 3 rows option in previous models, however, you need to go back a few more years than you expect, if you are looking for a 3rd row seating 2020 Nissan Rogue interior option, you won’t find it.

Nissan stopped including the 3rd row Nissan Rogue interior option from the 2017 model, all the models before that can be specced with the third row.

Nissan Rogue, how many seats?

The SUV comes standard with five seats, two in the front and three in the back, however, they don’t offer a Nissan Rogue seating capacity option to increase the seats for the 2023 models.

Since the brand stopped including the seating capacity option for 7 passengers in 2017 you will have to look for earlier models.

This is unfortunate since it is clear that this model targets families and having a Nissan Rogue seating capacity 7 seats option is a must for many large families, or even for small ones that want to have that extra seating for special occasions.

The 2023 Rogue might not have as many seats as the 2017 version but it’s clear that it’s a way better-looking car inside and out.

The interior of the 2017 versions was already looking outdated even at the time it was released, while the latest 2023 Rogue is likely to still look fresh for a few more years with this interior design, there’s no doubt that Nissan did a great job here.

In terms of quality, the new one has more leather and has less plastic compared with the 2017 version, the only reason to get the old version would be for the extra 3rd row and the price.

Technology-wise you can’t even compare both cars, but that’s a given based on the age difference between both cars.

Nissan SUVs with three rows, and a seating capacity for 7 passengers

Currently, there are seven Nissan SUVs for the US market, however as you may be aware, crossover SUVs have been enjoying significant growth in recent years, and therefore Nissan has bet heavily on them.

So you get an idea, there are currently five crossover SUVs, the Kicks, the Rogue, the Rogue Sport, the Murano, and the electric Arya.

Then there is one midsize SUV, the Pathfinder, and one full-size SUV, the Armada.

The only Nissan SUVs with three rows of seating are the Pathfinder, and the Armada, which makes sense since they boast a larger size than their crossover siblings.

These two SUVs can seat up to seven passengers, while all the crossovers are limited to only five passengers.

Even if the Rogue doesn’t come with a 3rd row for seating it’s still a great car, and it’s also one of the fastest SUVs under $30,000.
