Looking to spice up your Porsche Macan with a tuning body kit? Then you are at the right place. As we analyze the different options offered by the top tuners, we realize that there aren’t many options in the market. And if we look for the newer versions of the Macan, things get more complicated. Since for the 2019, 2020, and 2021 Porsche Macan, options are very limited, as most top tuners focus on the 2014 – 2018 models.
As the new 2022 model is approaching expect most tuners to skip the 2019-2021 models and jump straight to the new one, which is likely to introduce a hybrid or electric version, and an all-new interior, similar to the 2021 Cayenne. However, for those that like to make their cars more special, know that there are plenty of options for the pre 2019 Macan.
Currently, the best tuning companies that offer a body kit for the Porsche Macan are: Mansory, TECHART, Prior Design, and Hamann. However, we are going to talk about the TECHART and the Hamann options as they boast the best body kit designs and the best features.
Porsche Macan TECHART Sport and Sport+ packages
The TECHART packages are available for all Macan versions, standard, S, GTS, and Turbo. The Sport package adds fender extensions and TECHART Foruma IV rims. Also, aerodynamic parts are included, like a roof spoiler and a different front fender.
The Sport+ package gives the Macan a front lip spoiler in gloss carbon fiber, black quad tailpipes, and it improves the Porsche’s driving dynamics. This package also presents a valve-controlled exhaust, that gives a deep and rich sound.
For the interior, an ergonomic TECHART steering wheel is provided, together with handcrafted floor mats with Sports and Sport+ logos, and the availability to customize the interior.
The tuning company also improves the power output of each Macan version. The standard petrol Macan gets a +50 hp and +50 Nm (37 ft-lb) of torque increase, while the Macan S increases +50 hp and 60 Nm (40 lb-ft) of torque. For the Macan S Diesel the power output increase is slightly different, as it gains 42 hp but it gets 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) of torque.
The Macan GTS receives a +50 hp and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of torque upgrade. Then, for the Macan Turbo, TECHART grants an 80 hp and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of torque increase.
Porsche Macan Hamann Body Kit Tuning
Available only for the Porsche Macan S Diesel, Hamman lowers the suspension of the car, and adds aerodynamic parts, like a distinctive front end, and accents around the car. The body kit gives the Macan a wider look by adding fender flares which increases the width by twelve centimeters (4,7 inches).
Besides, an aerodynamic side skirt is included, and a rear spoiler. Hamman offers quad ceramic-coated tailpipes in either black, chrome, or carbon fiber. And the interior can be personalized with sporty and elegant finishes.
The Hamman body kit also comes with a particularly neat feature, an Active Sound exhaust system controlled by an App. This system can make the Macan S Diesel deliver a V8 sound, and it can be controlled in a smartphone, allowing the user to choose between three modes: (off), for a standard sound, (medium), for a satisfactory sound, and (loud), which wreaks havoc everywhere you go. But the App is more sophisticated than that, as you can also adjust the volume and the sound characteristics.
But that’s not all, Hamman also increases the power output to 310 hp and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. It also lowers the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration to 5,7 seconds if you have the Sport Chrono package.
Which tuning company has the best body kit?
From our perspective, the TECHART Sport+ option is the winner, as it’s available for all versions and the exterior body kit looks more refined. However, note that the Hamann option is still great, the Active Exhaust system and the power upgrade for the Macan S Diesel is superior to what TECHART has in that matter.
At the end of the day, it all boils down to which body kit looks better to you and how exclusive you want your Macan to be.
