The auto industry is undergoing a massive transformation as we shift towards electric mobility. In this regard, Kia has unveiled their latest addition to the EV lineup, the 2024 Kia EV9.

This electric SUV offers an impressive combination of technology, style, and comfort that will surely attract EV enthusiasts and potential buyers alike.

Let’s take a closer look at what this new electric SUV offers.

Modern Exterior Design

Kia has made sure the new EV9 looks bold, muscular, and futuristic, by making it almost identical to the concept design.

The car’s front fascia features sleek vertical headlights, and a large lower air intake, which helps complement its modern looks.

The SUV’s profile successfully mixes sharp lines with curves to give it a distinctive look, while applying Kia’s recent design philosophy.

Moving to the rear back, we find a large spoiler, complex taillights, and a simplistic rear bumper design that matches the overall shape of the car.

Swiveling second-row seats, and minimalistic interior

The interior of the EV9 is as exciting as the exterior, which features a floating panoramic dashboard that hosts a 12.3” infotainment system, and a 5” display.

Kia has introduced grey trim, digital buttons, and minimalistic climate control into the interior to help convey its simple but functional design of it.

The seats are where this SUV is going to excel over most of its competitors, first of all, it comes with a third row, something really hard to find among electric SUVs

Kia has stated that you will be able to option the EV9 in either a six or seven-seat configuration.

The second-row seats are the most exciting part about this SUV, as they can swivel 180 degrees, giving the option to passengers to look directly at the third-row passengers, giving it a “lounge feel”.

2024 Kia EV9: Specs and Price

Kia hasn’t announced how fast the EV9 will be, and the range is still unknown, however, we can guess that the range will be around 300 miles (483 km) since this SUV is produced in Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

Something noteworthy to mention is that in January a document was leaked where they showed possible trim options for the EV9.

This document was a survey that Kia was sending to customers to know which trim options would be the most attractive and it can give us an insight into what to expect.

The entry-level trim indicated that it would have 200 hp and 250 lb-ft (339 Nm) of torque, while it didn’t have a towing capacity.

It would get 220 miles (354 km) of range, 7 seats, a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) acceleration of 8.5 seconds, and a price of $56,000.

While the range-topper would get 400 hp and 480 lb-ft (651 Nm) of torque while providing a towing capacity of 4,500 lbs.

The range would also be higher, at 240 miles (386 km), 6 seats, a faster 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) acceleration of 5.2 seconds, and a price of $73,000.

Take this information with a grain of salt since the official specs may greatly differ from the ones we stated. Once we get the official ones we will proceed to update the above information.

Also, remember that the upcoming electric Hyundai Ioniq 7 will share platforms with this vehicles, as well as many parts.
