The DBX is one of the most exciting SUVs in the market, it comes with the full package: it has a great design, it comes with exceptional power, and it packs lots of features. A car like that doesn’t come cheap, so how much is the Aston Martin DBX and DBX707?
First of all the DBX comes in two versions, the standard Aston Martin DBX and the more powerful Aston Martin DBX707, similar to what Bentley does with the Bentayga V8 and the Bentayga Speed, or how Rolls-Royce does it with the Cullinan and the Cullinan Black Badge.
The three British marques use the same strategy of releasing first a standard model that feels special and complete, and then, unexpectedly, they release a model that comes with a substantial increase in power and a more aggressive design.
Design differences between the Aston Martin DBX and the DBX707
First of all the standard DBX was released in 2020, while the DBX707 came out not so long ago in 2022.
You can see the most apparent differences between both cars in the exterior design, where the DBX707 took it to the next level by making it considerably more aggressive.
Just in the front, it featured a bigger new grille, with bigger air, and a redesigned splitter, as well as adding air intakes in the bonnet.
Note that all those front changes weren’t just cosmetic as they improved the aerodynamics and the cooling of the engine, gearbox, and the brakes.
Then the rear back of the DBX707 received a bigger spoiler, a menacing diffuser in the lower part of the bumper, which also comes with quad-exhaust instead of one on each side like in the standard DBX.
Moving into the inside things get more complicated, as the differences are harder to spot, the most obvious one is a redesigned lower part of the center console with more options in the DBX707 and the standard sports seats.
Aston Martin DBX vs Aston Martin DBX707: engine and specifications
When the DBX came out in 2020 the thing that we found a bit disappointing was its specs since it was entering a highly competitive segment where the competition already had SUVs that outperformed it.
The DBX is powered by an AMG-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 542 HP (550 PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque, it can speed up from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4,5 seconds, while its top speed is limited to 181 mph (291 km/h).
The Aston Martin DBX707 is a whole different monster since the British automaker took the 4.0-liter V8 from the standard DBX and tuned it to produce 697 hp (707 PS) and 663 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque.
This translates into a substantial increase in performance, as it can go from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 3,2 seconds, while also achieving a top speed of 193 mph (310 km/h).
When the DBX707 was released it became the most exciting SUV of the year, however, the Ferrari Purosangue unveiling eclipsed the Aston Martin.
So, how much is the Aston Martin DBX and the Aston Martin DBX707?
Starting with the Aston Martin DBX, the pricing is steep as we are talking about a luxury performance SUV, so get ready to pay at least $189,000 (190,000€).
The DBX707 has a steeper price, since we are getting one of the most powerful SUVs in the world, and a more aggressive car, we can expect a high price. The Aston Martin DBX707 starts at an MSRP price of $235,000 (240,000€).
In our opinion, the Aston Martin DBX707 is the one to go for, the massive power bump, the improvement of the exterior design, and all the performance enhancement you will be getting is worth the price.
You are getting an SUV that can compete against the likes of the Ferrari Purosangue and the Lamborghini Urus Performante, which we consider the best-performance SUVs today.
